End of Summer Activities - Uptown Cocktails

It’s painful to say, but summer is officially coming to a close. Whether the kids are going back to school, vacations are wrapping up for a while, or the sunscreen is nearing empty, transitioning into the fall season brings a sense of routine, normalcy, and often, chillier weather. Whether planned or spontaneous, summertime activities are for letting go and having fun outside of your usual routine. Below we’ve compiled a few ideas for end of summer activities that can leave you relaxed and refreshed for this coming fall. And as always, none of them would be complete without our pre-mixed Uptown Cocktails.

Bowling

Bowling is a great way to get friends together and enjoy some healthy competition. Whether renting out a lane at a local alley or setting up your own makeshift pins in the backyard, split into teams and create a lighthearted incentive to win. Maybe the losers have to pay for the next Uptown Cocktails, or the winners get a lucky makeshift pin or trophy. Whatever it is, get creative! This is a tried and true outing with a simple enough premise to make for some unique and memorable adaptations.

Movie Night

Long attention spans are hard to come by these days, but find a night to set everything aside and sit down to watch a movie. You could host a cozy and cool indoor showing, or a warm and welcoming outdoor premiere on a vacant garage door or wall. We probably don’t even have to say it, but a movie night wouldn’t be complete without a plethora of snacks (and a round of pre-mixed Uptown Cocktails). Compile all your goodies into a buffet, or theme them around the movie you choose. Laugh, cry, feel, snack, sip, and enjoy this simple summer getaway.

Change Up Your Look

This summer might be the perfect time to try something new with your look, whether it be as minor as a haircut trim or as major as a new tattoo or a total wardrobe makeover! Put together a mood board or photo gallery of things you might want to try, and pick the one that makes you feel the most you. Maybe you’re totally ok with the way you present yourself, and that’s ok too! But who doesn’t love a little summer spontaneity?

Off the Grid Day

This one might be a bit of a challenge, but spend a full day away from your screens and devices. Take the opportunity to go notification-free and do a hobby you love, whether that be reading a new book, going to a farmers market, or finding a cool spot to hike. Whatever it may be, enjoy the space to breathe and have fun without the stress and distraction that can come with always being connected. Trade the blue light for sunlight!

Cocktail Party

We couldn’t complete this list without mentioning a cocktail party. Get all your friends together in person or on Zoom and pick a theme for the party. This could be a specific type of clothing to wear, a specific type of snack to bring, a specific color everything and everyone has to be, the possibilities are endless. Whatever the theme is, we certainly hope it includes our pre-mixed Uptown Cocktails. Once everyone has arrived at the party, all that’s left to do is pour yourself a glass, share some secrets, and have a ball.
